Breanne (she/her) grew up on Treaty 1 in Winnipeg Manitoba where she spent the majority of her life as part of the Manta Swim club. This seventeen-year career, that included representing Canada in swimming competitions all over the world, became a huge influence on her artistic practice. Interested in a body's evolution and transformation, and intrigued by the process in which we reach the point of the signs, of ephemerality of our physical bodies in this world. Breanne attended the University of Minnesota where she completed her BFA in 2017. Returning to Winnipeg to complete her Masters in Fine Art at the university of Manitoba in 2019. Studying photography, Her previous photographic medium was black and white analog film, she would print her images in the darkroom and then embed color into them. She then worked with Polaroid’s to create installations from scanned manipulated images. Working as an interdisciplinary artist, she has a new primary focus on ceramics. She works out of her studio within the Manitoba Institute of Sculptors and Artists.
